Avery Berkel is establishing a new focus on its North American Retail and Food Service weighing equipment business. To that end it has appointed Edward Nunn to the position of General Manager, Retail North America.
In 2000, Avery Berkel was acquired by US based Weigh-Tronix - a move which created the world's second largest weighing equipment company - Avery Weigh-Tronix.
In North America, the divestment of its Berkel brand meat slicers manufacturing business to ITW is now completed. The weighing equipment segment was retained and has been combined with the existing NCI brand retail and food service products extracted from Weigh-Tronix. The result is a new sharply focused business unit called Avery Berkel North America.
This is an exciting time for the North American retail and food service weighing business. There is a very strong nucleus of talent, which will be fully supported by US based Weigh-Tronix, in addition to Avery Berkel in the UK.
Edward comes to Avery Berkel North America, from Weigh-Tronix, where he successfully ran its Dillon force measurement equipment division. He also spent six months at Avery Berkel in the UK last year as part of the post acquisition integration team.
